Angela Svonavec Leads Preservation Efforts for Historic Old Petersburg Toll House Landmark

Angela Svonavec, Managing Member of Fearless Leasing and a dedicated member of the Great Crossings Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), is spearheading critical efforts to preserve the historic Old Petersburg Toll House. Located in Addison, Pennsylvania, this 1835 structure served as the original gateway for westward travelers on the National Road. As one of the few remaining toll houses from America's first federally funded highway, its survival is essential to maintaining our nation's architectural and cultural heritage.

The toll house, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, faces significant preservation challenges that require ongoing stewardship. Svonavec’s involvement highlights the intersection of private sector leadership and historical advocacy, ensuring that this landmark remains an educational resource for the public.
