This initiative demonstrates how industry-wide professional associations can effectively leverage collective action to address systemic social issues. By formalizing philanthropy into a competitive model, the Georgia accounting sector creates a sustainable, recurring revenue stream for food banks, ultimately strengthening community resilience and demonstrating the profession's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The 2026 Georgia Accounting Food Fight has successfully raised $363,162.91, providing an impressive 1.45 million meals for Georgians facing hunger. This collaborative initiative, hosted by The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and Feeding Georgia, mobilized 53 fundraising teams and over 4,400 accounting professionals across the state. By turning professional camaraderie into a philanthropic engine, the campaign ensures that food banks receive vital support during the critical post-summer replenishment period.
The competition recognized several firms for their outstanding generosity and engagement. Nichols Cauley secured the title of Statewide Hunger Champion with $53,405.16 raised, while Underwood Advisors, LLC earned the Statewide Food Fight Hero award for the highest points per employee. Other notable winners included Deloitte, Forvis Mazars, LLP, and Teradata Corporation, all of whom demonstrated a deep commitment to serving their local communities through this highly anticipated annual event.
Since its inception in 2014, this ongoing partnership has generated over $3.28 million, funding more than 13 million meals for neighbors in need. This initiative highlights the immense impact the accounting profession can achieve when rallying for a common cause. Looking ahead to 2027, the organizers aim to build on this remarkable momentum, inviting even more firms to join the fight against food insecurity.
